A cosy studio for films, games and music

Made for film nights, video games and playing guitar, this Stoke Newington studio becomes a small cinema when the curtain is drawn across its wide sliding door. Open it, and the room fills with daylight and the garden comes in.

Planning approval allowed a generous 3.1m height, which keeps the room airy. Warm marine plywood walls, a bespoke TV cabinet and soft, low lighting make it cosy at night, while charred larch cladding gives it a dark, striking look against the planting.
